Art Museum program on Bauhaus design
From 1-3 p.m., the Elmhurst Art Museum is holding a panel discussion in conjunction with The McCormick House and the Bauhaus Dream of Pre-Fabricated Homes. Panelists will discuss the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus—a legendary German school where Mies was the final director. Free with museum admission or current membership.

- From 9 a.m. to 12 noon brother and sister Lauren and Grant Schleiter are seeking gently-used bicycles for a charity event called “Pedal Power,” Bikes may be dropped off at Stemples Cycle Center at 494 Spring Road.
- Entitled “Celebrate Blues and Jazz—The Music of America,” the 8th Annual World Music Festival will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel on the campus of Elmhurst College. Admission is $10. Tickets are available by visiting elmhurst.edu/world-music-festival.

- At 2 p.m., to honor Veterans Day and the history of WWI the Elmhurst History Museum will host a performance by living history impersonator R. J. Lindsey, who will tell the story of General Charles Dawes, a successful Chicago banker and businessman who was compelled to serve his country during WWI. - At 3 p.m., the second concert of the Elmhurst Symphony’s 58th season will take place at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Rd. Includes a special salute to the U. S. - Now through Jan. 6, 2019, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, 220 Cottage Hill Ave., presents a special exhibit “Fabergé Figurative Carvings.” Modern carvings from the House of Fabergé, feature Russian folklore figures of the Kvass Seller, the Gypsy Fortune Teller and the Vagabond made of Russian gemstone materials.
