Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
July 25
Durk L. Griden, 50, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol by the driver and illegal stopping or standing in the roadway in the 1700 block of W. Armitage at around 1:56 p.m.
July 24
Police said William E. Weishaupt Jr., 43, of Addison, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for disorderly conduct in the 600 block of Briar Hill Lane at around 8:30 p.m.
A 50-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 2100 block of Adobe Drive at 11:37 p.m. Police said the suspect struck a victim on the face and head with a fist.
July 23
An 18-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence in the 500 block of Green Oaks Court at around 6:26 p.m. Police said the suspect punched a victim on her back three times, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspect then reportedly took the phone from victim and slammed it to the ground, advising her that she was not to call the police.
July 22
A 21-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 200 block of Michael Lane at around 6:51 p.m. Police said the suspect threw a set of keys at a victim, causing an abrasion on her leg.
July 21
Police said an officer responded to a call for a well-being check in the 1000 block of N. Rohlwing at around 6:27 a.m. According to police, Nicholas Castino, 26, of Streamwood, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, provided officers with a false name and date of birth, and refused to obey an officer’s commands. Castino also had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for DUI, according to police.
Sheri A. Sauer, 55, of La Grange, was charged with DUI and no lights subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and Ellsworth at around 1:03 a.m.
Villa Park
July 20
Marquis E. Shelton, 33, of Country Club Hills, was charged with retail theft in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt on April 16. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 20.
July 19
A 36-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery on Dec. 5, 2017. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 19.
Theft was reported in the 100 block of E. Maple. Police said that an unknown suspect stole four packages delivered to the front doorstep of the above location sometime between 10 and 11 a.m.
July 18
Narcisa Usurelu, 26, of Sacramento, Calif., was charged with retail theft at a store at around 3:45 p.m.
July 17-July 18
Criminal damage was reported in the 90 block of W. North. Police said that an unknown suspect flattened the rear passenger tire of a vehicle parked on the southwest side of a building sometime between 9 p.m. July 17 and 10:15 a.m. July 18.
July 17
A 23-year-ol Chicago man was charged with two counts of domestic battery and criminal trespass to real property in the 200 block of N. Ardmore on June 9. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 17.
July 16
Sean P. Oleary, 20, of Elmhurst, was issued a local adjunction for possession of drug paraphernalia at a local park at around 11:36 p.m.
Vanessa R. Romero, 29 of Lockport, was charged with retail theft at a store at around 12:50 p.m.
July 15
A 54-year-old Villa Park woman was charged with domestic battery in the 100 block of W. Monroe at around 8:11 p.m.
July 12
Lazaro Fernandez Inglesias, 39, of Miami, Fla., was charged with financial identity theft on May 25. The original complaint and arrest warrant were issued on July 12.
July 11-July 12
Theft was reported at a local gas station. Police said that an unknown suspect stole an iPhone X, a debit card and an Illinois driver’s license which had been inadvertently left unattended sometime between the above dates.
