Eleanor M. Shreve nee Parker, 82, formerly of Elmhurst. Beloved wife of the late E.L. Don Shreve; loving mother of Betty (Robert) LeGere, Cyndi (John Scott) Shreve and the late Kathy Gault; grandmother of Margaret (Joseph) Mandt, Michael (Kylsee) Gault, Ryan, Daniel and William LeGere and Natalie and Wyatt Wreford; great grandmother of Joey and Regan Mandt and Eli, Liam and Charlotte Gault; sister of Marilyn Schmauss, Marian Alongi and the late Howard Parker and the late Charles “Bud” Parker. Eleanor grew up on a farm in Central Illinois and moved to the Chicago area after completing nursing school in the late 1950s. She and her husband spent 20 years happily retired in Florida and Arizona playing golf, traveling and supporting their family. She spent the last three years of her life at Sunrise Senior Living in Lombard where she made many friends and was well cared for. She will be remembered for her fiery personality. “She was a pistol.” Memorial Visitation was held at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
