June 12, 1959 – March 6, 2018
Golf courses across the world lost an avid supporter when Charles “Bob” Robert Palutis died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. A passionate reader who spoke with quick wit and candor, Bob was a good friend to those lucky enough to know him.
Born in Burlington, Vt., Bob grew up in the Chicagoland area. He attended Southern Illinois University before beginning a 35-year career at Nielsen where he was director of research. He traveled frequently for work – both out of the country and across the United States. It was through work in New Mexico that Bob developed a deep connection with Native American tribes.
Bob’s inner circle included his colleagues, golf buddies, longtime friends and, of course, his family. He was an amazing uncle to his three nieces and a dependable big brother to his three siblings. He leaves his mother Carole Renstrom and her husband Roger; sister Lisa Palutis; sister Cynthia Zolla and her husband Matt; brother David Palutis and his wife Kari; and three nieces, Hannah and Sarah Maerowitz and Ella Palutis.
Improving the lives of those around him is what Bob believed in. To honor his memory, his family asks that you do something Bob would have done. Donate time to Habitat for Humanity. Buy a friend a book to widen their worldview. Or simply remember Bob the next time you’re working on a long par 5. Arrangements by Ahlgrim Funeral Home.
