Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
March 15
Police said an officer recognized and stopped Hadon Rodriguez, 36, of Wood Dale, near Lake and Grand at around 12:36 a.m. for operating a vehicle while license suspended and active warrants. According to police, Rodriguez had two original warrants out of the Addison Police Department for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and two failure to appear warrants out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for retail theft and driving while license suspended.
March 14
Police said that while investigating a traffic accident near Iowa and Myrick at around 2:04 p.m., Maria C. Martinez-Simeon, 47, of Addison, had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for driving while license suspended. She also was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
March 13
Police said Joshua A. Mathew, 19, of Des Plaines, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.
Police said an officer responded to the Cook County Jail to transport David A. Moreno, 45, of Romeoville, to the Addison Police Department for processing on an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for burglary and retail theft.
March 12
Wayne D. Benton, 33, of Addison, was charged with aggravated assault near Lake and Rohlwing at around 8:30 p.m. Police said Benton threatened a victim with a knife during a traffic altercation.
March 11
Darius F. Conrad Jr., 20, of Addison, was charged with battery, criminal trespass to property and resisting a police officer in the 300 block of W. Lake at around 5:28 a.m. Police said Conrad remained upon the property of a restaurant after being told by restaurant staff to leave. According to police, Conrad grabbed a police officer’s arm, pushed the officer on the chest and resisted arrest.
March 10
Police said Jamie A. Alonso Sr., 43, of Addison, was charged with violation of a bail bond in the 600 block of S. Iowa at around 6:16 p.m. when he entered upon property after receiving notice that such entry was forbidden.
Villa Park
March 10
Kelsi E. Johnson, 33, of Elmhurst, was charged with disorderly conduct in the 100 block of S. Villa at around 8:28 p.m.
A female juvenile from Villa Park was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor near Plymouth and Michigan at around 11:50 p.m.
March 9
Shari A. Reyes, 45, of Brookfield, was charged with two counts of DUI and improper lane usage near St. Charles and Charles at around 12:42 a.m.
Criminal damage and criminal trespassing were reported in the 400 block of S. Michigan. Police said that between 7 and 11 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a residence, causing damage to the door. Nothing appeared to be missing.
March 8
Retail theft was reported at a mobile phone dealership. Police said unknown suspects stole three iPhones from a display at around 7:16 p.m. and then fled the area.
March 7
James T. Becker, 56, of Elgin, was charged with aggravated DUI and failure to signal when required near North and Addison at around 10:15 p.m.
March 6
Four female juveniles from Villa Park were charged with disorderly conduct/fighting at Willowbrook High School at around 7:40 a.m.
Theft was reported near Roy and Lincoln at around 6:12 p.m. A victim told police that an unknown male suspect(s) stole her purse that contained $1,900 in cash and a pair of Jordan® shoes.
Criminal damage was reported in the 900 block of W. North at around 3:04 p.m. Police said that an unknown male suspect smashed the window of a vehicle that was parked in the lot.
Jan. 23-March 5
A vehicle was reported stolen at a car dealership. Police said that between 9 a.m. Jan. 23 and 9 p.m. March 5, an unknown suspect(s) stole a vehicle from the lot.
March 4
Barry N. Wynn, 34, of Chicago, was charged with DUI and improper parking on a roadway near Villa and Roosevelt at around 1:01 a.m.
