Area police departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
Jan. 29
Jeffrey C. New, 26, of Albany, Texas, was charged with forgery in the 300 block of W. Lake at around 12:39 p.m. Police said New presented a fictitious prescription at the pharmacy in the Edward-Elmhurst Health Center and Immediate Care Facility.
Jan. 28
Giovannie Bahena, 26, of Prospect Heights, was issued citations for possession of cannabis, driving while license suspended and no insurance subsequent to a traffic accident near Lake and I-355 at around 7:44 a.m.
Jan. 27
Police said Vincent Galione Jr., 39, of Addison, had a failure to appear warrant out of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department for contempt of court.
Mujtaba A. Siddiqui, 28, of Glendale Heights, was charged with criminal damage to property in the 1600 block of W. Lake at around 7:06 p.m. Police said Siddiqui swatted a cell phone out of victim’s hand resulting in the phone falling to the ground and being damaged.
Jan. 25
Police said Samuel Garcia Jr., 26, of Addison, had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and a second failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for violation of an order of protection in the 500 block of N. Valerie at around 2:59 p.m.
Jan. 23
A 23-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of W. Army Trail at around 11:08 p.m. Police said the suspect struck one victim in the stomach, pushed a second victim to the ground several times, and threw an end table that struck a third victim on the face.

Jan. 27
Tasia K. Jorden, 33, of Plainfield, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and no insurance near Route 83 and Washington at around 4:28 p.m.
Markus L. Payne, 29, of Dolton, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, two counts of disobeying a traffic control device, speeding, improper lane usage, failure to signal and squealing tires near North and Westwood at around 7:57 p.m.
Jan. 26-Jan. 27
Theft was reported in the 300 block of N. Ardmore. Police said an unknown suspect removed keys, photos and miscellaneous papers from a victim’s apartment sometime between 12 noon on Jan. 26 and noon Jan. 27.

Marjorie V. Arias, 25, of Downers Grove, was charged with DUI and speeding near Route 83 and I-290 at around 12:41 p.m.
A Villa Park man, 23, and a Mokena man, 29, were charged with domestic battery in the 1-100 block of N. Summit at around 3:01 a.m.

Sebastian Medina Torres, 46, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving on shoulder and failure to signal when required near Roosevelt and York at around 10:20 p.m.
Jan. 24
Joseph B. Palermo, 19, of Villa Park, was charged with obstructing a police officer, resisting a police officer and unlawful possession of cannabis in the 900 block of N. Harvard at around 9:25 p.m.
Jan. 22
Jaquise M. Williams, 22, of Chicago Heights, was charged with retail theft in the 1600 block of S. Ardmore at around 7:14 p.m.
A 37-year-old Forest Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery at a hotel at around 10 p.m.
Retail theft was reported in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt at around 9:23 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect removed cosmetics from a display shelf at a store and left without paying for the items.
Jan. 21
Arson was reported in the 200 block of W. Stone at around 9:27 p.m. Police said four vehicles were damaged when an unknown suspect started a fire inside them.
Jan. 11
William D. Guianquinto, 52, of Addison, was charged with theft and identity theft in the 600 block of N. Addison at around 2:09 p.m.
