Lois D. Kaliebe, nee Hinman, of Oakbrook Terrace, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2017, at Elmhurst Hospital at the age of 91. She was born in Maywood, Illinois on June 4, 1926 to Frank and Mae Hinman. She lived for 42 years in Elmhurst and worked in the Elmhurst Public School District for 20 years as a teacher’s aide. Above all, Lois was a homemaker and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ted E. Kaliebe; a daughter, Carol Ann Enyart; her parents and sister, Betty Jahaske.
Cherishing Lois’ life and legacy are three loving sons, Ted Kaliebe, Jr. of Jackson, Wy.; David Kaliebe of Berkeley, Ill.; and Bill Ka-liebe (Janine) of Elmhurst; a loving daughter, Diane LaFlam (Keith) of St. Augustine, Fla.; nine loving grandchildren, Peter and Patrick (Kelli) Enyart; Andrew (Ashlee) LaFlam; Kimberly Kaliebe; Rachel (David) Borden; Nicolette and Kaitlin Kaliebe; Daniel and David LaFlam; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Knox LaFlam and Haylie Ann Enyart.
Lois enjoyed life to the fullest and was most proud of her children and grandchildren, loving them unconditionally. Known for her sense of humor, Lois was a best friend to many, treating everyone with kindness and respect. Her hearty laugh will be missed but will live on as a memory.
