Frosh-soph 200 medley team takes first

On Saturday, Oct.14, 2017 the York girls swim team competed in the Maine South Relay Invitational and placed third in the six team meet.
The Dukes finished third with 108 points just two points behind the second place Highland Park team and 20 points behind the first place host team, the Maine South Hawks.
The York frosh-soph 200 medley relay team of sophomores Nicole DeMare, Amanda Polach, Moleigh Waldherr and freshman Claire Pfaff won its race with a first place time of 1:58.05.
York had two frosh-soph freestyle relays place second. The 200 yard freestyle relay team of freshman Grace Walker, freshman Emma Stec, Walderr and Polach posted a time of 1:52.86. The 400 freestyle relay with Pfaff, Stec, DeMare and Polach finished with a time of 4:02.38
The York varsity placed second in the 200 back event with junior Samantha Harrington, senior Samantha Reed, Pfaff and Polach with a 1:58.52. as well as the 400 freestyle with junior Delaney Tase, senior Jess Reed, senior Meg Quinn and junior Nicole Bednarik with a time of 3:58.01.
Overall York placed in the Top 3 in ten of the thirteen events.
