IC Catholic Prep football team blows out Bishop McNamara
York football team loses to New Trier.

The wins keep piling up for the IC Catholic Prep football program.
The Knights, the defending Class 3A state champions, hit the road to Kankakee in Week 1 and came away with a 43-7 non-conference win over Bishop McNamara.
IC Catholic Prep evened the series with McNamara at 2-2 over the last three years. McNamara defeated the Knights twice during the 2015 season (including once in the playoffs). IC Catholic Prep returned the favor last year in the season opener (34-0).
The Knights have now won 15 games in a row.
In the win against McNamara, the Knights piled up 183 yards on the ground on only 22 carries (8.32 yards per carry). Lazerick Eatman led the Knights with nine carries for 103 yards. He had a long run of 49 yards. Steven Crady ran four times for 45 yards and Jacobs Lytton ran three times for 24 yards.
Quarterback Luke Ricobene was 13 of 20 passing for 270 yards and four touchdowns. He had a long pass of 67 yards to Eatman, who was the second-leading receiver for the Knights (2 catches, 68 yards) in the game behind Khalil Saunders, who caught four passes for 88 yards and had a long catch of 45 yards. Sean Hipskind had one catch for 35 yards, while Khali Sanders had three catches for 40 yards.
Eatman had one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown. Crady had a rushing touchdown. Saunders, Ryan Malek and Sanders each caught receiving touchdowns. Sanders caught a pair of two-point conversions.
On defense, Kevin Cooke had nine tackles. Daniel Gibbons and Kemon Reese each had eight tackles and Sanders and Dylan Packer each had six tackles. Packer had one quarterback sack for an eight yard loss. Saunders and Sanders each had an interception. Saunders had three pass deflections.

The York football team opened the 2017 season with a 31-0 non-conference loss to New Trier in Winnetka.
The Dukes return to action Friday at home in a West Suburban Conference crossover contest against Addison Trail.
IC Catholic Prep boys cross country
The IC Catholic Prep boys cross-country team features returning runners Dominic Gaudio (sophomore), Vaughan Murray (sophomore), Ian Rickert (sophomore), Fabian Perez (junior), Patrick Shannon (senior), Howard Haung (senior) and Casey Kristie (senior).
“Casey is coming back from a strong cross-country season and is taking over the leadership role left vacant by Eric James,” said IC Catholic Prep coach Jeff Fredrickson. “Another key returner for us is Patrick Shannon and Fabian Perez will be ready for a great season.”
Newcomers to the team include sophomore Zach Jordan and freshman Liam Darce.
The Knights opened up their season last week against Elmwood Park and also ran in the Southland Invitational.
