Daniel A. ‘Skip’ Nixon III, passed away Aug. 23, 2017, at the age of 61 at Journey Hospice in Woodstock, Ill., after a short illness. Skip is survived by his partner, Jan Wilen of Woodstock; his daughter, Callie Ann of Bloomington; his son, Zachery Cain, U.S. Army; his mother, Mary Louise Nixon of Elmhurst; his brother, David A. (Pat Swarn) of Florida; his sister, Elizabeth A. (Randall) Nixon-Clark of California; his aunts, Clara May (Bob Phillips) Halsall of West Chicago, Margaret A. ‘Peggy’ (Bob) Smykowski of Lombard, and Judy (Jim) Kamaryt of Florida; his uncle, Bill (UB) Anderson of Lombard; his sister-in-law, Julie Nixon of New Jersey; his nieces Anne Marie (Patrick) of N.J. and Pamela Jean (Chuck) of N.J.; his nephew, Craig (Mairin) Anthony of N.J., his great-niece Penelope; great-nephew Dennis; and his many special cousins, Gordon Halsall, Keith (Mearl) Halsall, Jeff (Paige) Smykowski, Rob (Michelle) Smykowski, Jennifer (Michael) Haston, Adam (Kate) Anderson, and J.D. Kamaryt. Skip is preceded in death by his first wife, Judith A. nee Blaschke; his son, Christopher Cody; his brother Dennis A.; his father, Daniel; and his cousin, Scott Michael Smykowski.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard.
Interment Private. A celebration of Skip’s life will be held Sept. 6, starting at 5 p.m. at Niko’s Red Mill Inn, 1040 Lake Avenue, Woodstock, Ill. Please no flowers.
