The Bensenville Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Aug. 9:
A complainant reported an unknown suspect rummaged through her vehicle and stole approximately $40 in change at approx. 10:46 a.m. in the 100 block of E. George St., The case is under investigation.
A complainant reported an unknown suspect took her payroll check and cashed it without her authorization at approx. 4:36 p.m. in the 200 block of W. Roosevelt Ave.
Aug. 8:
In the 300 block of W. Irving Park Road, A complainant reported an unknown suspect removed and took her clothing from the laundromat dryers at approx. 10:09 a.m.
At 2:04 p.m. in the 1100 block of S. York Road, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect ‘keyed’ (scratched) his car while parked in the grocery store parking lot.
A loss prevention employee at a business in the 1100 block of S. York Road, reported that the same unknown suspect has stolen several bottles of liquor on two separate occasions.
Aug. 7:
Douglas E. Collins, 32, of the 300 block of S. Walnut St., Bensenville, was arrested for a failure to appear warrant.
At 8:07 p.m. in the 1100 block of S. York Road, a complainant reported that he found a skimming device on the ATM machine at 7-11.
Aug. 6:
Juan S. Terreza, 22, of Bensenville, was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct in the 1000 block of Ferrari Drive at 3:39 a.m.
At 5:31 a.m. near Green and Rose streets, Rebecca A. Meagher, 41, of River Grove., was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
About 3:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Church Road, a victim reported than an unknown suspect has made four unauthorized purchases with her debit card.
A 53-year-old Bensenville man was arrested for domestic battery in the 200 block of Rose Street at 7:29 p.m.
At midnight in the 300 block of E. Green St., a complaint reported his juvenile child had sexual relations with male suspect that occurred about a month ago.
Aug. 5:
Austin Patino, 22, of Bensenville, was arrested for possession controlled substance during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of W. Irving Park Road, at 2:54 a.m.
A Bensenville woman reported damage to her vehicle due to an unknown substance that an unknown suspect added to the gas tank at 9:12 a.m. in the 900 block of W. Irving Park Road.
A Glendale Heights woman reported that an unknown suspect keyed her vehicle at 7:03 p.m. in the 500 block of Thomas Drive.
Aug. 4:
At 1:33 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Green St., a complainant reported an unknown suspect used his credit card at various locations.
Herman S. Garcia, 65, of Addison, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 10:35 p.m. near W. Irving Park Road and N. York Road.
A Bensenville woman reported that an unknown male suspect approached them in the 300 block of E. Green St., and offered to sell them an iPhone. The woman purchased two cell phones and later realized they were fake.
Aug. 3:
A complainant reported that the wife of a co-worker attempted to crash her vehicle into the complainant’s vehicle at 8:20 a.m. near Foster Avenue and Route 83.
A complainant in the 1000 block of W. Irving Park Road, reported an unknown suspect is threatening him with bodily harm via social media if he does not send him money.
At 5:34 p.m. in the 100 block of Rose Street, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect attempted to pry open the back door of his residence. No entry was made.
At 7:26 p.m. a complainant reported that an unknown suspect pried open the back door of his apartment in the 100 block of S. Addison St. Nothing appeared to be taken or disturbed.
Andres Garcia Jr., 22, of Bensenville, was issued a village ordinance citation for possession of cannabis at 9:52 p.m. in the 600 block of John Street.
At approx. 4:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Argyle Street, a complainant reported an unknown suspect took the tires and rims from her vehicle and left it placed on cinder blocks.
