Suspect found with fraudulent checks, credit cards
On June 27, police said officers observed a hand to hand transaction in the 300 block of S. Route 83 at around 6:43 p.m. and learned that Keith Buckner, 45, of Summit, purchased a fraudulent check from Sean Jackson, 30, of Villa Park. Buckner was also found to be in possession of six additional fraudulent checks and numerous credit cards which did not belong to him, according to police. He was placed under arrest and transported to the police station. A traffic stop was conducted and Jackson was found to be driving while license suspended. He was arrested and transported to the police station. Police said a search of his vehicle yielded seven blank fraudulent checks and several credit/debit cards which did not belong to him. Buckner was charged with forgery. Jackson was charged with forgery, driving while license suspended, expired registration, improper use of a registration sticker and no insurance.
Hospital treats Bellwood man for gunshot wound
On June 22, officers responded to Elmhurst Hospital at around 10:55 p.m. for the report of a victim who had a gunshot wound to his arm. Officers spoke to the victim who stated while at a party in Bellwood, he attempted to break up a fight and was shot in the arm. His friend then drove him to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment. The victim did not wish to stay at the hospital or wait to speak with Bellwood Police. Bellwood Police were advised.
Battery victim walks to hospital
On June 24, a victim told police that she was driving with the suspect in his truck near York and Roosevelt at around 10:08 p.m. The suspect reportedly became angry and began yelling at the victim. Offender stopped his truck on westbound Roosevelt under the York Road underpass and allegedly began to batter the victim. The victim then walked to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for treatment. This case is pending investigation.
Jumping juveniles get stuck in deck elevator
On June 25, an officer responded with the Fire Department at around 10:12 p.m. for the report of juvenile suspects who were stuck in the elevator at the Addison parking deck. The suspects were removed from the elevator by the Fire Department. They stated they were jumping in the elevator which caused it to become stuck. They were transported to the Police Department and released to parents.
