Cannon fire will echo across Lombard this weekend as Union and Confederate soldiers meet again in battle during the Lombard Historical Society’s seventh annual Civil War Reenactment in Lombard’s Four Seasons park Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stanford’s Battery, which reenacts a Confederate battery unit from Mississippi (some members of whom are pictured in the top photo), is the host unit for the event. Visitors will be able to watch drills 
and demonstrations, visit military campsites, listen to Civil War-era music and much more. On both days, a skirmish will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and food vendors will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A donation of $5 per person is being requested at the event; all donations will benefit the Lombard Historical Society.
