Reaffirming her commitment to protecting senior home care services, state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, is hosting an Emergency Town Hall with the Alzheimer’s Association at the Glendale Heights Senior Center located at 260 Civic Centre Plaza in Glendale on Wednesday, July 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“With all the uncertainty regarding social services funding, our office will be hosting an emergency town hall to discuss the proposed cuts to senior care from both the state and federal level,” said Conroy. “We want to provide an opportunity for seniors to share their concerns and get real answers to their questions regarding critical services.”
Conroy asks that seniors join the Alzheimer’s Association and local senior service providers to learn about the dangerous cuts being proposed to senior care programs by Governor Rauner in Springfield and politicians in Washington D.C., and discuss how we can work to protect the vital funding for senior citizens in our community. Senior care is incredibly important within all communities, they need to know that they are cared for by their families and government, so if they are in need of at-home care services or to be put in a care home, they know that they are getting the best treatment. To learn more about this, seniors, as well as their families, may want to look online at ‘how to conduct in home aged care services sydney‘ (or wherever their location is), so they are fully aware of what they need to do and how it can benefit them.
“I have been a longtime advocate of senior home care services that allow seniors to age at home instead of having to go into expensive, unnecessary long-term institutionalized care,” Conroy added. “Cost effective programs like Meals on Wheels and the Community Care Program provide seniors with the resources they need to age where they want to, and for most seniors, that’s in their home.”
