Addison Trail to host Blue and White Community Night

Addison Trail boys and girls volleyball camps to be held.

Addison Trail will hosts its Blue and White Community Night Aug. 18 from 6-9 p.m. at the high school football stadium.

Attendees will enjoy a showcase of Addison Trail’s sports teams, performing arts, clubs and more. Food and treats will be available for purchase as well.

The event is sponsored by the District 88 Foundation, which raises funds to benefit District 88 students.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., and activities commence at 6:30 p.m.

Addison Trail Sports Camps

Addison Trail still has several summer sports camps that will occur in July.

A girls volleyball camp will be held in the main gym for players in grades 4-8 and also for high-school players. The cost of the camp is $80. The 4-8 camp will run July 17-20 and July 24-27 from 8:30-10:15 a.m. The high-school camp will run from July 17-20 and July 24-27 from 10-11:45 a.m. The Addison Trail girls’ volleyball coaching staff and players will run this two-week intense and fun camp where campers will learn the basic fundamentals they need to be successful at any level.

The boys volleyball camp for players in grades 6-12 will run from July 17-20 and July 24-27. This camp will be held from noon-1:30 p.m. in the main gym. The cost of the camp is $70. The Addison Trail coaching staff runs the camp and it will focus on techniques and concepts for players.

The Addison Trail summer theatre camp runs from July 31-Aug. 4 with a performance to be held Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. This camp is open to students in grades 6-12 and the cost is $50. The camp will allow students to get a hands-on experience in theatre. Students can choose between acting or working on the technical side. Students will work on acting, building, painting, lighting, sound and costumes. A sort play will be produced at the end of the camp.

The Addison Trail spirit cheerleading camp will be held Aug. 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the balcony of the gym. The cost is $50 for the camp. AT’s cheerleading squads and coaches will provide campers with two days of fun and spirit. Campers will be divided by age and learn cheer skills, including jumps, basic tumbling, cheers and basic stunting. On the last day, campers will perform their routine for family and friends and will all be invited to perform at a home football game. Snacks, a camp T-shirt and a picture are included. Open to students in grades K-9.
