Area Police Departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
July 20
• Kevin Lopez, 18, of Palatine, was charged with possession of cannabis subsequent to a traffic stop near Park and Dale at around 11:56 p.m.
• General Willis, 51, of Milwaukee, was charged with deceptive practice in the 700 block of Annoreno at around 12:21 p.m. Police said Willis was charged after he purchased a vehicle on Dec. 15, 2016 with a fraudulent check.
• A 31-year-old Chicago woman was charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault in the 40 block of Green Oaks at around 9:31 a.m. Police said the suspect struck a victim in the face with her hand, and while holding a knife, swung her arm and cut the victim’s forearm.
July 17
Pebbles McCarthey-Williams, 22, of Carol Stream, was charged with retail theft at a store in the 1000 block of W. Rohlwing Road at around 5:30 p.m. Police said McCarthey-Williams was observed concealing items and leaving the story without paying for the items. Loss prevention confronted McCarthey-Williams to which she refused to respond back to the store and fled the scene, according to police. On July 12, a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 20, police said McCarthey-Williams turned herself into the Addison Police Department.
July 16
A 31-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence in the 700 block of Briar Hill Lane at around 10:31 a.m. Police said the suspect slapped, choked, kicked and pulled the victim’s hair, pushed her to the ground and smacked the phone out of the victim’s hand, and then stomped on her face and head.
July 15
• Police said an officer responded to the Lombard Police Department to transport Lizbeth Medrano, 26, of Glen Ellyn, to the Addison Police Department for processing of an original warrant for failure to give aid or information from a traffic accident.
• Police said Daisy M. Robles, 24, of Arlington Heights, had a failure to appear warrant out of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Department for traffic violations subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and J.F. Kennedy at around 12:26 a.m. Robles also was charged with driving while license suspended and no insurance.
• Stanley Stettler, 19, of Addison, was charged with DUI subsequent to investigating a traffic accident near Squire and Autumn at around 11:52 p.m.
July 14
• Police said Marcos A. Monzon-Salazar, 39, of Aurora, had a failure to appear warrant out of the Kane County Sheriff’s Department for driving while license suspended and a warrant out of the Aurora Police Department for driving while license suspended subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and J.F. Kennedy at around 10:15 p.m. Monzon-Salazar also was charged with driving while license suspended.
• Police said Roosevelt Walker, 36, of Chicago, had an original warrant out of the Addison Police Department for battery.
Villa Park
July 15
• Eric De Lao, 21, of Franklin Park, was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident near North and Addison at around 11:07 p.m.
• Matthew Picciuolo, 30, and Jessica M. Speiden, 28, both of Elmhurst, were charged with retail theft at a store at around 3:26 p.m.
• A 27-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 200 block of N. Cornell between 3:15 and 4:18 a.m.
July 14-July 15
Theft was reported at a hair salon. Police said that between 7 p.m. July 14 and 8 a.m. July 15, an unknown suspect stole stainless steel decorative scissors that were mounted on the north side exterior wall of the building.
July 14
• Thomas J. Hanson, 27, of Villa Park, was charged with possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a public place near Villa and Wildwood at around 11:39 p.m.
• Joel A. Wieland, 29, of Elmhurst, was charged with two counts of retail theft at a store at around 9:16 a.m.
July 11-July 13
Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of E. Division. Police said that between 10:30 a.m. July 11 and 9:15 a.m. July 13, an unknown suspect slashed the tire of a victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.
July 12
• Retail theft was reported at a liquor store at around 11:30 a.m. Police said an unknown male suspect removed five bottles of alcohol from a display and left without paying for the items while an employee was distracted.
• Criminal damage to property was reported in the 500 block of W. Division at around 12:56 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect punched the front door and broke a front window after a resident slammed the door shut on the suspect.
July 11-July 12
• Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of E. Oak. Police said that between 10:30 a.m. July 11 and 6:15 p.m. July 12, an unknown suspect slashed the tire of a victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.
• Theft was reported in the 700 block of S. Wisconsin. Police said that between 10 a.m. Jul 11 and 3 p.m. July 12, an unknown suspect took a pair of white/gray Jordan shoes, size 10 ½, from a bedroom closet.
July 11
• Armado Soto, 25, of Berwyn, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia near North and Lincoln at around 10:12 a.m.
• A 22-year-old Villa Park man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 1-100 block of E. North Ave. at around 9 a.m.
July 10
• Lazaro Gutierrez, 43, of West Chicago, was charged with obstructing identification, two counts of failure to secure a child in a child restraint system, driving while license suspended, operation of a vehicle when registration was suspended for no insurance and no insurance near North and Princeton Feb. 15, 2010. The original complaint and warrant was issued on July 10.
• Lea Licciardone, 26, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI and child endangerment near Euclid and Roosevelt at around 1:41 p.m.
July 8-July 9
Criminal damage to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of N. Villa. Police said that between 11 p.m. July 8 and 8:58 a.m. July 9, an unknown suspect tore off the rear windshield wiper from a victim’s vehicle.
July 6
• David J. Atkenson, 24, of Burr Ridge, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt at around 7:46 p.m. March 26. The original complaint and arrest warrant was issued on July 6.
• Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of E. St. Charles. Police said that between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m., an unknown suspect removed an iPhone 4 from an opened window from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a food store.
