The AAUW (American Association of University Women) Elmhurst Area Branch is hosting its annual Used Book Sale August 3-6, at Lincoln Elementary School in Elmhurst, 565 S. Fairfield Avenue.
Thousands of books (hardback and paperback) are available to purchase. Donated entirely by the community and sorted into over 30 categories, the sale includes a large children’s section, as well as parent/teacher resources, collector’s books, cookbooks, travel, history, self-help, the arts, sports, and much more. There will also be a section of books from the York HS English Department Reading List for the 2017/18 academic year. A list of the York English department books we receive will be maintained on the AAUW Elmhurst Area Branch website. CDs & DVD’s are also available to purchase. Cash and checks only – no credit or debit cards will be accepted.

Donations for the sale are being accepted from June 19 through July 30. Books and media can be dropped off in barrels with the familiar yellow signs at the following locations:
- Elmhurst Public Library – 125 S. Prospect Avenue
- Courts Plus – 186 S. West Avenue (inside the Courts entrance)
- Jewel Osco (south location) – 944 S. York Road (inside Jewel)
- Lincoln Elementary School – 565 S. Fairfield Avenue

Books may be dropped off at Lincoln School Entrance #10 from 9:30-11:30a.m. on Saturdays only from June 24 through July 29. This entrance is on the south side of the school facing the playground.

AAUW Elmhurst Area Branch is a not-for-profit organization. Proceeds from the sale of books from the Annual Used Book Sale benefit local and national AAUW scholarships, programs, and research for women and girls. A portion of unsold adult books will be donated to Hines Veterans Hospital and unsold children’s books will be donated to the Peoples Resource Center in Wheaton.
