Ross wins both hurdles events; Valerie Hoekstra wins 400.

Both Timothy Christian track teams had strong showings at the recent Chicago Christian Invitational.
Timothy’s boys track team finished fifth at the meet with 51 points.
The Trojans were fourth in the 3,200 relay with a time of 9:14.67 and took fifth in the 400 relay with a time of 46.90.
Clint Fincher was fifth in the 3,200 with a time of 10:51.17, while Caleb Mitchell was sixth at 11:08.55.
Xavier Ross won the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.71. Chris Brooks was 10th in the 100 with a time of 12.12.
Tommy Troxel took fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:07.04, while Alex Oldenburger was 11th at 2:17.27. The Trojans were sixth in the 800 relay at 1:41.13.
Ross won the 300 hurdles in 40.58. The next closest finisher was 43.93. Carson Hooker was eighth in the event at 48.57.
Will Terpstra was sixth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:58.64. Brooks was eighth in the 200 with a time of 24.42.
The Trojans were third in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:43.21.
Brett Harbaugh was fifth in the discus with a throw of 113-4. Ross was second in the triple jump at 40-1.
Thomas Jenkins was 10th in the shot put at 35-3, while David Barnes was 11th at 33-4 1/4.
Timothy Christian girls track
The Timothy Christian girls track team was fourth at Chicago Christian with 52 points.
The Trojans took fifth in the 3,200 relay with a time of 10:34.53 with Valerie Hoekstra, Elise Terpstra, Jill Forgac and Rachel Stoll.
Timothy was third in the 400 relay at 53.11 with Olivia Hoekstra, Zoe Stanton, Gabi Silvia and Alyse Schnurr.
Hope Clark was third in the 3,200 with a time of 12:29.55. Schnurr was fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.90, while Maggie Troxel was ninth at 18.96.
Timothy was third in the 800 relay at 1:56.74 with Stanton, Valerie Hoekstra, Priscilla Nartey and Silvia..
Valerie Hoekstra won the 400 with a time of 1:00.43. Terpstra was eighth at 1:07.42. Schnurr was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 53.77.
Stanton took ninth in the 200 with a time of 29.27. The Trojans were second in the 1,600 relay at 4:20.49 with Stoll, Valerie Hoekstra, Forgac and Olivia Hoekstra.
Ruth Hruska-Kelley was second in the discus at 104-0. Tyra Hopson was 10th at 69-4.
Olivia Hoekstra took fourth in the long jump at 14-10 3/4. Terpstra was 11th at 13-9 1/4. Terpstra also was eighth in the triple jump at 30-5.
