Registration is open for the 13th annual Elmhurst Running Club 4 on the 4th race. The 4-mile chip-timed run takes place at 7:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 4, starting and finishing at Elmhurst College. A 1-kilometer Kids (12-and-under) race follows at 8:25 a.m. The 4 on the 4th’s beneficiary is the Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation. This year, the race will honor Darryl May, a club and race founder who passed away earlier this year, the race is presented by InMotion Foot & Ankle Center in Elmhurst.
“This race if about fitness, fun, family and celebrating the Fourth of July in style,” said race director Bob Richards of the Elmhurst Running Club. “Once again, we have not raised our entry fee, and until June 5, it is discounted $5 across the board. We hope runners around town sign up soon to take advantage of this.”
The 4 on the 4th is one of 15 races in the Chicago area named to the 2017 Chicago Area Runners Association Runners Choice Circuit. For race information, and to register, go to 4on4th.com.
