Army Trail 3rd grade takes walking trip thru community
Army Trail 3rd graders took a walking field trip to the Addison Historical Museum, Village Hall and the Addison Public Library this week. During the 2016-17 school year, more than 600 District 4 students were able to take advantage of the opportunity to learn about their community’s past, present, and future by visiting these local sites.
Students began by touring the Addison Historical Museum, the Coach House, and the Century House. A highlight of this civic trip is when students have the chance to meet Mayor Rich Veenstra and ask him questions about village government. The tour concludes in the library where students have the opportunity to create a craft and to tour the library building, including the green roof on the third floor.
