Dukes take first two games of series against Glenbard West; Pastuovic homers against Proviso East.

The York baseball team won three games during a recent four-game stretch to move its overall record to 11-2.
The Dukes started last week with an 8-6 West Suburban Conference Silver Division win against Glenbard West at Village Green Park in Glen Ellyn.
York won the game by scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning to overcome a 6-4 deficit in its final at-bat. The Dukes had eight hits.
Andrew Deardurff was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Ian Steinorth went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Nick Lee was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Mike Bernal had an RBI. Mike Pastuovic went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Joey Yaeger went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Austin Gelsomino went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Deardurff had a triple and stole a base. Pastuovic also stole a base.
Burke Corcoran was the winning pitcher. He went six innings and allowed nine hits, but only one earned run. He struck out three. Charlie Pakenas pitched the seventh inning and earned the save.
York then lost 8-6 in non-conference action to Lockport at Ed Flink Field in Lockport. York led 4-3 at one point, but Lockport scored five runs over the fifth and sixth innings. York had 12 hits in the game.
Pastuovic went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Mike Achepohl had a hit and an RBI. Kevin Lipkin had a hit and scored two runs. Yaeger went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Deardurff had an RBI. Steinorth had a hit and two RBI. Ryan Ross had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run.
Zach Pflum took the loss in relief. Scott Tucker and Joey Chiappetta also pitched.
York returned to conference play and its series with Glenabard West and notched a 3-2 win in 12 innings at York.
The Dukes led 2-1 heading into the sixth inning but Glenbard West tied the game at 2. The score remained that way until Pastuovic doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th.
York had 11 hits. Bernal added two hits, while Yaeger went 3-for-5 with a run scored. Deardurff and Steinorth each had an RBI. Lee, Pastuovic and Chiappetta each doubled. Bernal and Deardurff each stole a base.
Jake Hadawi started and went 6 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked none. Gelsomino pitched the final 5 2/3 innings and allowed only one hit, no runs and struck out one.
York capped the week with a 21-1 WSC crossover win at Proviso East. York had 14 hits and scored 11 runs in the third inning. The game was halted after five innings by the 10-run rule.
Pastuovic and Pflum each scored two runs. Lee had a hit and an RBI. Achepohl scored twice. Bernal had two hits and two RBI. Mike Patti scored two runs, had a hit and three RBI. Brendan Connell scored three runs and drove in one. Tamaine Durr had two hits, scored a run and had two RBI. Deardurff had two runs scored, a hit and an RBI. Hadawi had a hit and two RBI. Adam Hassler went 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI. Ryan Ross had a hit, a run scored and two RBI. Lipkin had a hit, two runs scored and two RBI.
Hassler, Durr, Lipkin, Lee and Bernal doubled and Pastuovic hit a home run.
Durr pitched the first two innings and struck out three and earned the win. Henry Judge pitched the final three innings and struck out six while allowing only one run.
York was scheduled to play a three-game conference series this week against Proviso West and will make up the third game of the Glenbard West series Friday at York before hosting Downers Grove South in a WSC crossover game Saturday at 10 a.m.
