The Elmhurst Rotary Club invites area residents to a Gala Spring Fundraiser on April 29 at the Hyatt Lodge on MacDonald’s Campus in Oak Brook.
“We have planned a memorable evening of fun and fellowship with friends and neighbors,” said Rob Kopecky, fundraising chairman. The festive event begins at a 6 p.m. social hour with hors d’ oeuvres, followed by a banquet dinner.
Guests will enjoy high-spirited bidding for an exciting array of silent and live auction items, including an exclusive dinner for eight at Elmhurst’s Café Amano, condominium weeks in Florida, tickets to Cubs and Sox games and golf at Butterfield Country Club. A special package offers theater tickets to “My Fair Lady” at Lyric Opera, with limousine service and an overnight stay at The University Club in Chicago.
“This year, our Spotlight Charity is ShelterBox, a Rotary international disaster relief charity that provides shelter, warmth and dignity to victims of natural and man-made disasters throughout the world. Since its founding in 2000, ShelterBox Response Teams have been deployed on more than 300 humanitarian missions to over 90 countries,” Kopecky explained.
A ShelterBox tent will be erected at the entrance to the ballroom along with a display of the tools, water purification and cooking equipment and other items essential to disaster survival.
The fundraising party also features a raffle drawing for a $10,000 first prize $1,000 second prize and $500 third prize. Only 350 tickets will be sold and are available from club members for a $100 donation. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Elmhurst Rotary Charitable Trust Fund.
