Police Reports

Area Police Departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Addison

March 11

James A. Kasprowicz, 57, of Lombard, was charged with DUI in the 400 block of North Avenue at around 1:26 a.m. Police said an officer responded to a driver asleep at the wheel at a restaurant and found Kasprowicz to be DUI.

March 10

Francisco A. Vazquez, 29, of Addison, was charged with DUI and no insurance subsequent to a traffic accident investigation in the 200 block of N. Mill Road at around 3:53 p.m.

March 2

Leslie A. Mayer, 31, of Streamwood, was charged with prostitution in the 100 block of S. Villa Ave. at around 4:06 p.m. Police said officers responded to an apartment door left open, and the investigation led to Mayer being charged with prostitution.

Villa Park

March 11

Modesto Jurado, 18, of Villa Park, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give aid or information, failure to report an accident to police authority and disobeying a traffic control device near St. Charles and Ardmore at around 8:56 a.m.

Carlos R. Rivas Rivas, 40, of Addison, was charged with transportation of open alcohol, no valid driver’s license and improper lighting near North and Ardmore at around 12:38 a.m.

March 10

Criminal damage was reported in the south U.P. lot, 349 N. Ardmore. Police said that between midnight and 9 a.m., an unknown suspect damaged the rear window of a vehicle parked in a space.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the north U.P. lot, 349 N. Ardmore, at 12:15 a.m. Police said that an unknown suspect smashed multiple windows of a vehicle parked in the lot and also opened the vehicle’s glove box. However, nothing appeared to be missing.

March 9

Paul J. Berens, 58, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and making an improper turn near Roosevelt and Church at around 1:19 a.m.

Ritchie R. Calvillo, 22, of Addison, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia near Westwood and Adele at around 7:42 p.m.

March 8-March 9

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 1-100 block of S. Illinois. Police said that between 7 p.m. March 8 and 6 a.m. March 9, an unknown suspect entered an unsecured vehicle parked in a driveway and stole keys and a fire extinguisher.

Burglary to a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Ovaltine. Police said that between 8 p.m. March 8 and 7:15 a.m. March 9, an unknown suspect entered a vehicle parked in the lot and stole checks, headphones and a gym bag containing clothing.

A stolen vehicle was reported in the 1400 block of Ovaltine. Police said that between 6:45 p.m. March 8 and 7:16 a.m. March 9, an unknown suspect stole a vehicle that was parked unsecured in the parking lot. The keys were left in the vehicle along with a backpack containing a computer and other personal items. The vehicle was located in Elmhurst; however, the backpack and computer were still missing.

March 8

Anthony M. Snyder, 41, of Lombard, was charged with two counts of battery in the 300 block of W. St. Charles at around 1:52 a.m. Jan. 29. The original complaint and arrest warrant was issued March 8.

Theft was reported in the 200 block of W. North Ave. at around 12:45 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect picked up a bank deposit that had accidentally been dropped and fled the area.

March 7

Charles N. Barnato, 39, of Bensenville, was charged with burglary in the 300 block of E. St. Charles at around 3:34 a.m. The original complaint and arrest warrant was issued March 7.

Nicole Del Rosario, 25, of Streamwood, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 600 block of W. North Ave. at around 9:08 p.m.

March 6-March 9

Theft was reported at a local car dealership. Police said that between 9 a.m. March 6 and 9 p.m. March 9, an unknown suspect stole the exhaust system from a vehicle parked in the dealership’s parking lot.

March 5

Maria D. Carranza, 38, of Villa Park, was charged with two counts of DUI, transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor in a vehicle, driving while license suspended and no insurance in the 600 block of N. Addison at around 11:23 p.m.

Timothy J. Glidersleeve, 32, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, disobeying a stop sign, improper turn and no insurance near Villa and Washington at around 2:07 a.m.

Burglary was reported in the 100 block of S. Cornell at around 10:05 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect smashed a window and gained entry into a school building. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Criminal damage was reported in the 100 block of W. Sunset at around 6:34 a.m. Police said an unknown suspect drove through the grass field on the north side of a school, causing damage to the field.
