Area Police Departments recently reported the following arrests and citations. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.
Addison
Feb. 14
Jonathan M. Soto, 31, of Addison, was charged with criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Stevens Drive at around 2:18 a.m. Police said Soto kicked an apartment door, damaging the door frame and lock mechanism.
A 19-year-old Addison man was charged with domestic battery in the 300 block of Army Trail Blvd. at around 12:13 a.m. Police said the suspect struck the victim on the face with a tree branch.
Feb. 13
Yoselin Barrios, 21, of Bensenville, was charged with DUI, illegal transportation of open alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and no valid driver’s license near Lake and Neva at around 11:25 p.m.
Feb. 12
Juanita C. Viramontes, 21, of Addison, was charged with DUI in the 300 block of Myrick Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. Police said officers responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the road with its headlights on for several hours, and Viramontes was found to be DUI.
Villa Park
Feb. 11
Shila-Ann Negron, 32, of Villa Park, was charged with possession of cannabis near Ardmore and Jackson at around 4:33 p.m.
Theft was reported in the 600 block of E. Wildwood. Police said that between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a cellular phone that was left unsecured and unattended at a workstation.
Feb. 10-Feb. 11
Criminal damage was reported in the 900 block of S. Michigan. Police said that between 10 p.m. Feb. 10 and 9:48 a.m. Feb. 11, an unknown suspect damaged the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the driveway.
Feb. 10
Jennifer S. Hernandez, 32, of Villa Park, was charged with violation of a no-stalking order in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at around 5:33 p.m.
Feb. 8
Chrystian F. Huerta, 22, of Villa Park, was charged with theft in the 600 block of W. Roy at around 6:49 p.m.
Criminal damage was reported in the 600 block of S. Summit. Police said that between 5 and 8:35 p.m., an unknown suspect broke the back window of a vehicle parked in the roadway.
Theft was reported at a gas station at around 1:30 p.m. Police said an unknown suspect pumped gas into a vehicle and then left without paying.
Feb. 7
Retail theft was reported at a pharmacy in the 200 block of E. Roosevelt. Police said that between 7:24 and 7:29 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the store, removed items off the display shelves and left the store without paying for the items.
Feb. 6
Guillermo Perea, 44, of Chicago, was charged with transportation of open alcohol by a driver, driving while license suspended, driving on the wrong side of the road and no insurance in the 100 block of W. Roosevelt at around 5:50 p.m.
Feb. 5
Kenneth P. Petry, 45, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, refusal to give information after an accident, failure to report an accident to police, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance in the 500 block of S. Villa at around 10:57 p.m.
