York boys swimmers/diver compete at state meet
IC Catholic Prep’s Sutton qualifies for 3-point shooting sectional.

The York boys swimming team was well-represented at the recent IHSA state finals meet at New Trier High School.
York had four individuals in the meet. Senior diver Peter Barabolak took 15th in the preliminary diving round with a score of 206.50, which earned him a place in the semifinals. Barabolak then placed 13th with a score of 315.65 and finished one place out of qualifying for the diving finals.
Senior Flanagan Waldherr took 18th in the 500 with a time of 4:42.53.
Senior Alex Marlott was 31st in the backstroke with a time of 53.37.
Freshman Branko Kosanovich was 33rd with a time of 52.41.
In addition to qualifying four individuals for the state meet, York also took third as a team at the sectional this season.
IC Catholic Prep boys basketball
The IC Catholic Prep boys’ basketball team not only won a Class 2A regional title recently but also had a qualifier for this week’s Class 2A three-point shooting sectional round.
Matt Sutton was one of four individuals to qualify out of the Class 2A IC Catholic Prep regional. Sutton will shoot this week at the Class 2A Guerin Prep sectional for a chance to compete in next weekend’s Class 2A state 3-point shooting finals in Peoria.
