On Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 3:30-8 p.m., children with special needs and their families are invited to Wilder Mansion, 211 So. Prospect, for the annual Special Kids Day Holiday Party. The party is free and exclusive to those with special needs and their families.
Planned specifically to be obstacle-free and catering to the unique concerns and circumstances of special needs children, the Special Kids Day Holiday Party offers a stress-free atmosphere in which to enjoy some holiday traditions including a chance to tell Santa Claus what you hope to find under the tree.
Every child will have the opportunity to create an art project, play in our fun LEGO® Room, get their face painted, enjoy lively music and quiet reading time. Kids will meet Santa for a personal photo that is theirs to keep, along with a gift bag of toys and goodies. Balloon sculptors will be on hand to make exciting creations for kids to take home and the usual gang of volunteers will be baking their hearts into hundreds of homemade cookies to enjoy.
An evening of sunny smiles and infectious laughter, the Special Kids Day Holiday Party makes for a memorable holiday occasion.
Plenty of handicapped parking is available. No reservations are required, so come when it best fits your family’s schedule. This event is sponsored by Special Kids Day and Elmhurst Photo Boutique.
More about Special Kids Day…
Special Kids Day began more than 25 years ago and is dedicated to providing celebratory events for children with disabilities and their families in environments designed to accommodate their special needs. Over the years, through a combined effort of all our supporters, Special Kids Day has grown to serve hundreds of families.
Because of generous donations and plentiful volunteers, Special Kids Day has been able to provide all of our events at no cost to the children and families we serve. We continue to work to keep that tradition alive; 100% of all donations go only to the programs we offer. Visit our website www.specialkidsday.org for past success stories and pictures as well as more information about all our events.
