Man charged with assault after pulling knife
On Aug. 1, Lenard Panuelas, 28, of Chicago, was arrested at a tire store in the 500 block of W. North Ave. at around 4:44 p.m. Police said Panuelas reportedly had pulled a knife on an employee at the above location. An officer arrived on scene and placed Panuelas into custody without further incident. Panuelas was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Suspect forced entry into businesses, then called 9-1-1
On July 30, Daniel Gordillo, 21, of Elmhurst, was arrested in the 100 block of W. Vallette at around 1:54 a.m. Police said Gordillo called 9-1-1 to say he had forced entry into a restaurant and dental office in the above area, causing a large amount of damage. He told police that he was still inside the dental office looking at equipment.
Officers arrived on the scene, established a perimeter as Gordillo allegedly was refusing to exit the dental office. Police said that after some negotiations, he did eventually agree to exit, which happened without incident.
He was processed on three counts of felony criminal damage to property and two counts of trespass to property. Gordillo also was charged with criminal damage to property in another incident near Mitchell Avenue and the Prairie Path at around 7:13 a.m.
Police said the sign to Pioneer Park at the southeast corner of the above intersection had been knocked off its supports and was lying in a plant bed. An Elmhurst Park District employee believed it happened sometime overnight. According to police, the suspect was determined to be Gordillo.
Two persons found sleeping in a front yard
On July 30, Jonal Allen Mueller, 22, of Prospect Heights, and Cesar Diaz-Fong, 23, of Tempe, Ariz., were issued citations by police for disorderly conduct/public intoxication near North and Illinois at around 1:36 a.m. Police said Mueller and Diaz-Fong were located by police sleeping in a front yard.
