Timothy Christian boys basketball team defeats Walther Christian
York girls basketball team competes in regional action.

The Timothy Christian boys basketball team recently closed out the regular season with a 56-49 win over Walther Christian in Metro Suburban Conference East Division play.
The win moved the Trojans to 10-15 overall.
Timothy jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter and led 30-16 at halftime. Timothy increased its lead to 47-28 after three quarters.
Ben Lodewyk led the Trojans with 16 points, which included a 4-for-7 shooting effort from he 3-point line. He also had four steals.
Jonny Strube added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Joey Davidson had nine points and seven rebounds. Trayvon Williams added six points and three assists.
In earlier action, the Trojans dropped a 53-43 MSC East decision to Ridgewood.
Ridgewood led 14-7 after the first quarter and 20-15 at halftime. Ridgewood outscored Timothy 15-11 in the third quarter and 18-17 in the fourth quarter.
Strube and Mitch Evenhouse each scored 16 points to lead the Trojans. Strube shot 4-for-7 from the 3-point line and also had two blocks. Evenhouse pulled in a team-high six rebounds.
Davidson added nine points and five rebounds, while Josh Caver had five rebounds. Williams had three assists and three steals, while Lodewyk had four rebounds and three assists.
Timothy opened play earlier this week in the Class 2A Aurora Christian regional against Elgin St. Edward. Timothy is the No. 7 seed, while St. Edward is the No. 6 seed. If Timothy won that game, it played Wednesday against No. 1 seed Aurora Christian. The winner of that game advances to Friday’s regional title game at 7 p.m.
York girls basketball
The York girls basketball team dropped a 46-37 game to St. Charles North in semifinal action of the Class 4A Glenbard West regional.
York finished its season with a 15-15 record.
Kristen Viola led the Dukes with nine points on the strength of a 3-for-3 shooting night from the 3-point line.
Kelly Polte added seven points, while Ellen Foley had six points on two 3-pointers. Caylin Rufus finished with four rebounds and two steals, while Kaylin Kenny had four assists.
York made seven 3-pointers in the game.
