Georgia Horaites, of Elmhurst, passed away recently at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late James; loving mother of Helen (the late Harry) Lithas and the late Mary Chipain; grandmother of James Peter (Bonny) Lithas, Georgia (Greg) Contos, Chris George Chipain and Georgia (Dan) Veith; great grandmother of Jimmy Paul (Heather Schuning) Lithas, Elena Ann Lithas, Trinity Marie Veith and Gianna Maria Contos; great great grandmother of Ariana Lithas. William A. McFarland, 78
William A. McFarland, of Elmhurst, passed away at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital on December 4, 2015, at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Darlington, Wis. He is survived by partner and friend of 45 years, David Miranda; sisters, Shirley Nethery, Ruth Ellen (Owen) Thompson and Jean (Edgar) Temby; nieces and nephews, Thomas Nethery, Jack Nethery, Jo Anne Shosie, Ronald Nethery, James Nethery, Donna Douglas, Kay Steidinger, Timothy Temby and Todd Temby and many great- and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Bernice McFarland and by a brother-in-law Tim Nethery. Bill graduated from Darlington High School in 1955 and Pioneer College in 1959 where he was editor of the Platteville Exponent while in college. He began his teaching career in Rockford and then Atwater, Cal. He moved back to the Chicago area where he did social work for Cook County prior to becoming a supervisor in the Department of Public Aid for the State of Illinois, retiring in 1999. He was an active and longtime member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ where he faithfully served as a choir member and lay leader. Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 125 W. Church St., Elmhurst. Private interment at Union Grove Cemetery, Darlington, Wis. Ernest W. Kurucar, of Villa Park, passed away recently at the age of 61. He was the dear father of Ryan (Helena), Joel, Matthew and Dustin Kurucar; loving son of Ernest J. and the late Ethel; brother of Ruth (Kyle) Kuhrts and Jeffrey; uncle of many.
