The Lombard-based Plan B Foundation, which helps individuals who have been incarcerated get and keep full-time jobs, recently held its Christmas Assistance Program during which it had people adopt families that have been victims of gun violence and buy Christmas gifts for them. On Saturday, Dec. 19, the Villa Park VFW served as a venue for the foundation to conduct a drive-thru drop-off to distribute those gifts with Santa making an appearance. “I have to say that in the end I had more people interested in helping than I had families looking for help,” said Plan B Foundation founder Carrie Brockie, a Villa Park resident. “People were so generous and it was great to see such great members of our community. It was a great success.” Carrie and her husband, George, started the nonprofit last August.
