City and Santa plan Holiday Parade through town

According to a release from the City of Elmhurst, Santa Claus and his holiday friends are coming to your neighborhood on Thursday, Dec. 17 ( or Friday, Dec. 18 rain date). Santa has asked to use City vehicles to bring you the joy of the holiday season safely and close to your home.

The route will cover 16 miles of Elmhurst with vehicles passing through each Ward, beginning at 4 p.m.

Santa and his friends will not be stopping or getting out of vehicles. This is a short parade with approximately 10 city vehicles.

If your home is on the route, please consider parking your car at the end of your driveway. You can turn your flashers on and wave as the parade goes by.

The route is within a quarter mile walk from most any home in Elmhurst and will traverse many open public parking lots.  Feel free to take a walk to the route or find a public parking lot on the route to watch the holiday parade from your vehicle.

Please remember to practice proper social distancing and safety measures. Stand at least 6 feet apart from one another and wear face masks.

Santa travel live updates will be posted on the City’s Facebook Page. A virtual viewing will be posted on the City’s YouTube page, ElmhurstTV the following day.
