
Pedestrian killed by train in downtown Elmhurst

Late Wednesday evening, the Independent learned that a pedestrian had been struck and killed by a Metra train at No. Haven Rd. near E. Park Ave. at about 6 p.m.
Traffic in downtown Elmhurst was rerouted during the incident. Inbound and outbound trains on the UP West Line were suspended about three hours, resuming service at about 9:25 p.m., according to Metra.
