Frank Attento, 82

Frank Attento, a longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed away November 15, 2020, at the age of 82. Frank was born on April 14, 1938, in Rende, Italy to the late Michele and the late Concetta Attento. He came from humble beginnings, when he arrived in Chicago, he landed his first job with Hart Schaffner Marx as a cutter. From there he continued his long, fulfilling career as a clothing designer and tailor, his meticulous work brought him much joy and he semi-retired at age 78.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Josephine Attento; loving father of Connie (Richard) Bergslien, Maria (Patrick) Bourbonnais, Rosanna (Joe) Tungol, Gina Imbrogno Attento, Lisa (Domenico) Giannone and Danielle (Pasquale) Bernardo; cherished grandfather of Eric and Mitchell Bergslien, Daniella Bourbonnais, Joshua and Juliana Tungol, Marissa and Louis Imbrogno, Francesco and Annalisa Giannone, Giovanni, Giuseppe, Luca and Francesco Bernardo; great-grandfather of Katherine Bergslien; brother of the late Ida Clara Silvestri and Claudio Salvatore (Pilar Rendonnό) Attento and he was the loved uncle of many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass was held Friday, Nov. 20, at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Street, Elmhurst. Entombment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
