Police bust illegal cannabis dispensary; Find 34,000+ grams of product, a handgun; three arrested

According to the Elmhurst Police reports, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, officers served a search warrant at a business whose sign currently says its name is “BDI Brands, LLC,” located at 231 West Wrightwood, regarding its alleged operation as an unlicensed recreational cannabis dispensary. During the course of the investigation, police reported that the business allegedly sold cannabis to walk-in customers as well as a minor.

Approximately 31,000 grams of edible cannabis, 3,000 grams of cannabis flower, 460 grams of cannabis concentrate and a loaded handgun were recovered in the drug investigation, police said. Two business operators and one employee were taken into custody.

Arrested was Shiquita Lacy, 24, of Lisle, who was found to be in possession of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy (E) or molly. Lacy was charged with delivery of cannabis and possession of controlled substance. Also arrested was Melvin Woodard, 37, of Roselle, who was charged with felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and armed violence.
