District 88 provides free food service each Wednesday

District 88 is committed to making sure students continue to receive food service while they are not in school buildings because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The district recently extended the hours of service and the number of meals provided through its community food-service program. The district is partnering with its food-service provider—Chartwells—and Cottage Hill Operating Company to offer free meals to all residents up to the age of 18. Each Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days worth of meals (seven breakfasts, seven lunches and milk) per student are distributed outside of the district’s two schools—Willowbrook High School and Addison Trail High School. The food distribution at Willowbrook takes place near Door 6—the entrance near the main gymnasium. The photo from last week’s distribution shows (left to right) Sarah Warren—Chartwells’ food-service director at District 88, Deborah Badger and Sue Raya. Badger and Raya both work in the Willowbrook kitchen for Chartwells.
