Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 51 in Lombard—the oldest troop (chartered in 1919) in DuPage County—recently cleaned up the area around the pond behind the office of J.W. Reedy Realty. Some of the items that were found included two tires, an orange traffic cone, a giant cast iron pipe, a Do Not Mow sign, a toddler toy, two cat statues, a broom handle, one hoodie and lots of plastic debris. One of the neighbors was so appreciative of the scouts’ efforts that he came out and offered to buy them ice cream. The scouts who took part in the cleanup are, from left to right: Will Scott, Leo Rossi, Lance Mueller, Cooper Wooldridge, Adam Dynako, Bill Nowak and John Scott.
