The Villa Park Parks and Recreation Department is offering group dog obedience classes this fall. Rudy O’Donnell, a certified dog trainer and Villa Park resident, will teach the seven-week program, which begins on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The evening classes will take place at the Community Recreation Building, 320 E. Wildwood Ave. There will be two evening classes each Wednesday—a puppy/beginner class and an intermediate class for dogs who have gone through a basic program. For more information about the classes, call the parks and recreation department at 630-834-8525, or email O’Donnell at [email protected]. O’Donnell is pictured while leading Saturday morning’s group dog walk with his clients and their dogs at Madison Meadow in Lombard. About 20 dogs participated in the Aug. 22 walk. “My specialty has become fearful and anxious dogs,” said O’Donnell, who owns and operates the Endless Pawssibilities training business. He said his classes in Villa Park will help teach dog owners about dog body language, leash handling and what to look for in their dogs and other dogs. “I want to teach you to be the best handler you can be,” O’Donnell said.
