The Villa Park Police Department held a bicycle registration event on Saturday, Aug. 29, along the Illinois Prairie Path, near the Rugaard Gazebo. Dozens of Villa Park residents provided information about their bikes, including serial numbers. Members of the police department also took photos of the registered bikes. If the bikes are ever lost or stolen, and then recovered, police will be able to identify them and return them to their owners. The residents who registered their bikes at the event included Deborah Canale (right), who is a member of the Villa Park Library Board of Trustees. She is pictured with her 10-year-old son Anthony (left) and her 8-year-old daughter Allison (center). Both children attend Westmore Elementary School. Anthony is a fifth-grader, while Allison is in third grade.
