At fight, witness saw suspect with pistol; police find shell casings in area

On June 20, police said officers responded to the report of a fight in the south parking lot of a hotel in the 900 block of Riverside at around 5:17 a.m. Upon arrival, numerous people and vehicles fled the area. No victim of a battery was located. Officers later were informed of an unknown suspect who brandished a pistol, and four shell casings were located in the area.

Man allegedly throws bottle at woman

On June 24, Christopher B. Ciavirelli, 51, of Chicago, was charged with battery in the 500 block of W. St. Charles at around 2:20 p.m. According to police, a victim stated that Ciavirelli had thrown a bottle at her. Police said Ciavirelli fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival but was later located and taken into custody.

Victim claims nose scratched with fork

On June 23, a 62-year-old Elmhurst man was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the 200 block of E. Fremont at around 4:13 a.m. Police said officers responded to a report of a suspect who was stabbed with a fork. The victim related the suspect scratched her nose with the fork. The reporting officer observed a red laceration on the left side of the victim’s nose.
