Like all other restaurants in Illinois, Simon’s Restaurant in Villa Park is closed to dine-in service because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gov. JB Pritzker ordered all restaurants to close dine-in service, starting at the end of business on March 16. That closure will run through at least April 30. Restaurants can still provide carry-out and delivery service. After closing to dine-in customers, Simon’s offered take-out service for a few days before closing. “We aren’t going to be shut down forever,” said Simon Kringas, the restaurant’s owner. The photo from Saturday morning, April 4, shows the empty parking lot of the business, which is located at 2 W. Roosevelt Road. On a typical Saturday morning, Simon’s parking lot is filled with customers’ vehicles. The business has about 40 employees.
