Mary Louise Langer, 81

Mary Louise Langer, nee Reynolds, of Elmhurst, passed away recently at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Langer; loving mother of John (Maribel) Langer, James (Nancy) Langer and Susan (Eric) Engebretson; proud grandmother of Matthew, Julia, Andrew, Caroline, Blake and Justin; dear sister of the late Margaret (survived by Ray) Briere, the late Ray Reynolds, Jr. and the late David Reynolds; loving aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews and “unofficial” grandmother to numerous others.

Mary will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends as a beautiful wife, incredible mother and an amazing Nana. Although known as a talker, she was selfless and her true gift was being a genuine listener with an unquenching desire to connect and care for everyone she met, willing to drop everything for anyone in need. An avid Chicago sports fan, her true passion lied in her grandkids and their activities (sports, music recitals and school events). She loved music and singing in the church choir at Epiphany Lutheran where she served as a member for more than 50 years. She was a compassionate nurse early in her career and then an amazing paralegal (really, a law partner) with her husband’s law practice for more than 40 years. She will be greatly missed, but we show comfort in knowing that she is in her eternal resting place with the love of her life, Ray Langer.

Visitation will be held at the Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, and at Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette St., Elmhurst from 10 a.m. until time of Service 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.  Interment Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials will be appreciated to the charity of your choice.  Info 630-834-3515 or visit ahlgrim.com.
