Feeding the masses during a crisis

Since restaurants have had to cease dine-in service, they’ve had to be creative in offering take-out, curbside and delivery options for their customers. Bobby DeMaria, one of the owners of Brauer House, 1000 N. Rohlwing Road, #13, Lombard, said that like other eating establishments, the restaurant is adapting its menu. “During these times we’ve evolved the menu,” he said, with such items as smoked sandwich options. The “Parking Lot Smokeout to Go” fundraiser takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until March 30. DeMaria said a portion of the sales proceeds will benefit employees who have been laid off. The Lombard restaurant is helping to provide free meals to the elderly. Call 630-495-2141 or visit its Facebook page for details.
