Student admits bringing BB gun to York

On Feb. 3, a reporting officer spoke with a suspect at York High School who admitted to bringing a BB gun to school. The BB gun was turned over and the suspect was cited for disorderly conduct and released to his mother.

Nine trucks burglarized, 15 chain saws reported stolen

Burglary to a vehicle was reported at a business in the 700 block of N. Industrial. A complainant told police that he discovered nine work trucks had been burglarized between the dates of Jan. 31-Feb. 3. The cargo doors on the nine trucks were either pried open or attempted to be pried open. A total of fifteen chain saws were removed from the trucks.

Two suspects knock down victim, steal purse, vehicle

On Feb. 1, a victim in the 100 block of Michigan told police at around 9:59 a.m. that she was approached by two male juvenile suspects who asked her for directions to Bellwood, then knocked her down, grabbed her purse and stole her vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was located in Maywood a short time later.

Women claims she was abducted

Suspicious circumstances were reported on Feb. 1, when police said an unknown female called the police station at around 1:28 p.m., advising she was abducted and left in an unknown wooded location. The caller was located by the Maywood Police. The suspect related to the Maywood Police officer that an unknown female asked to use her phone and ran away once she completed her phone call.
