The meeting of the District 205 School Board held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the District 205 Center, 162 S. York St., featured a summary of the board’s recent finance committee meeting on Nov. 19.

Christopher Whelton, the district’s assistant superintendent of finance and operations, mentioned the upcoming projects to create secure entrances at five district schools, including Fischer Elementary School.

The project at Fischer reportedly has to include an addition to the main office, for purposes of parity. That addition will reportedly cause the project at Fischer to have a budget variance of about $560,000 over the previous estimate.

Collins noted that the list of figures provided by Whelton contained tentative numbers. The projects will go out to bid in January. More School Board news inside.
