Lombard’s Faith United Methodist Church is holding its inaugural pumpkin sale this year. The church is located at 815 S. Finley Road, across from Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. A shipment of 600 pumpkins of various shapes and sizes arrived at the church on Saturday, Oct. 12. The non-GMO pumpkins, which will be on sale daily through Nov. 2, were grown on a Navajo Indian reservation in New Mexico. The premium-quality pumpkins were grown with practices that have the least effect on the environment. “We are very happy to be doing this,” said Rev. Ayla Samson, the pastor of Faith United Methodist Church. She is pictured fourth from left (back row) in the photo from Saturday. “We’re really looking forward to making this into a nice fall event for our church.”
