Mike’s Market of Villa Park is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As part of the celebration, Mike’s held special events during each of the five Saturdays in August. The business at 32 S. Villa Ave. served free food to its customers during each of those events. Mike’s Market also sold $5 raffle tickets during each of those Saturdays in August. The raffle prizes included a Weber Summit S-470 gas grill. Mike’s Market recently presented its raffle proceeds—over $6,200—to Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley in Villa Park. Pictured (left to right) at the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley facility at 830 S. Addison Ave. are Brian Lynch (manager at Mike’s Market), Mike’s co-owners David Casey and Joe Lane, and—from Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley—President and Chief Executive Officer Theresa Forthofer, Vice President of Development Erik Johnson and Director of Development Kelly Moreland. The donation will be used to support therapy programs at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, which provides physical, occupational and speech therapies for infants and children. Casey noted that his son and Lynch’s son both utilized the services at the Villa Park facility. “We wanted someone to benefit from the raffle,” said Casey. “Easterseals seemed like a good fit.”
