The Village of Lombard is hosting its fall “We Remember” blood drives Wednesday, Sept. 11, to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and also to remember our first responders. Representatives of the village, including fire, police and public works personnel, are pictured at the Lombard Village Hall with Village of Lombard blood drive coordinator Carol Bauer (holding banner, second from right) inviting those who can to donate the gift of life. The blood drives are being held at two locations: Yorktown Shopping Center in a mobile coach parked at the mall (outside entrance #5 between Von Maur and The Eatery) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30-7 p.m. All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s frozen custard and a long-sleeved Chicago Bears shirt. To make an appointment, or for information regarding donation eligibility, contact Bauer at 630-620-5712 or Versiti Blood Center of Illinois at www.versiti.org/IL.
