Virginia Kay Geis, nee Henss, age 87, of Lombard, died Aug. 10 at Lexington Health Care Center in Lombard.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 1111 E. Madison St., Lombard. Interment is Friday at 11 a.m. at Moline Memorial Cemetery, Moline.

JEANNE HEWELT
Jeanne Hewelt (nee Hartwig), age 96, longtime resident of Lombard, at rest August 6, 2019, at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook.
Beloved wife of the late Melvin; loving mother of Stan (Renee) and Linda (the late John) Green; devoted grandmother of Steve (Kelly) Hewelt, Justin (Emily) Green, Ryan (Mary Sue) Green, Brandon (Karla) Green, Lauren (Matt) Metzger, Brittany, Kevin and Jonathan Hewelt; dearest great grandmother of Addy, Brooklyn, Johnny, Max, Everleigh, Killian, Knox and Kennedy; dear sister of Carol Britton Head and the late Herbert.
Funeral Services were held August 13, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Evangelical Church, 215 S. Lincoln St., Lombard. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.

ARLAND JOHANKNECHT
Arland Kent “Pete” Johanknecht, 85, formerly of Lombard, a faithful and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully at his home in Naperville on Tuesday, July 30th. He was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin, on November 26, 1933, to Anna Maria (Bender) Johanknecht and Russell Earl Johanknecht.
He grew up in Wisconsin playing high school basketball, football and baseball with his brother Gilbert Earl Johanknecht. He was a devoted family man and was beloved by his nieces and nephews and several generations to follow. His outlook on life and incredible sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met.
Pete attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and became a licensed civil engineer. You could not find a more passionate Badger or Packer fan on earth. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War conflict, returned home to meet and marry the love of his life, Sonja Lou Gross and they were married on December 3, 1960.
He worked as a civil engineer most of his life and ran his own engineering business in Lombard for many years. After retirement, he went back to work for Raytheon and Lockheed Martin supervising construction projects at small airports.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori (Tom) Rose and grandson, Jack Rose, of Naperville and many others who loved him so deeply. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Sonja, brother Gilbert (Nancy), parents, Russell and Marie, and many other loved ones. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Presbyterian Church, Children’s Ministries are encouraged.

SALVATORE PARISO
Salvatore Pariso, born October 15, 1941, was taken from us too soon at the age of 77 on Aug. 10, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his mother Madge Pariso (née Bartosovic) and his father Salvatore K. Pariso. He is survived by his wife Laura, daughter Kathleen; granddaughter Nicole (partner Luis); great-granddaughters Emilee, Anasofia and Ava; grandson Matthew; daughter Kristina and husband Noel and granddaughter Taylor; son David and wife Cristina and grandchildren, Trenton, Carlos, Paige and Vanessa (partner Nicco) and great-grandchild Odin; son Nicholas and wife Jennifer with grandchildren Kelby and Liam; his only sister Mary Lee Demeron; and many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews!
With Sal, his family was very important and they always came first! His precious dogs were also integral in his life. At Sal’s request no burial.
A celebration of his life will be held at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148, on Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A celebration dinner to follow.
