‘Amazing Apples!’ at Villa Park Library July 20
The Villa Park Public Library will hold “Amazing Apples!” on Friday, July 19, from 2:30-3 p.m. Children ages 6-9 can learn many fun facts about apples and see how pollination plays a major role in the life cycle of an apple. This program will be held off-site at the Depot at Cortesi Park (320 E. Kenilworth Ave.) in Villa Park and is presented by the DuPage County Farm Bureau. Registration is required. Lombard Senior Men’s Club to meet July 16
The Senior Men’s Club will meet July 16 at 1 p.m. in the Fireside Room of the Lombard Bible Church (not affiliated) 111 S. Park Ave. (south side entrance), Lombard. Storytime at Cantigny July 12
Friday, July 12: Storytime in the Garden with Winfield Public Library. Visitors Center, 10:30 a.m. Join the library staff to explore some favorite stories and other activities in Cantigny’s beautiful gardens. Free program; parking fee waived for those who present a pass, available in advance at the library’s Youth Services desk. Regular parking $5.

“Agriculture in the Library: Wild About Wheat” Wednesday, July 17, at 3 p.m. Learn about the crop that gives us cookies, bread, pasta and other treats from an educator at the DuPage County Farm Bureau. Grades 1-4. “Galaxy Silhouettes: An Outer Space Painting Workshop” Wednesday, July 17, at 7 p.m. Join the library for this modern twist on a classic silhouette portrait. Let your imagination take over and design a galaxy pattern using watercolor pencils under artist Christine Thornton’s guidance. Beginners welcome.
