Villa Park Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 2801 conducted its annual Memorial Day service on Monday at Cortesi Veterans Memorial Park. Longtime post member and World War II veteran Sid Bergh served as the master of ceremonies. Members of the post are shown placing a wreath during the service. Another photo shows Emily McComb—a 2019 Willowbrook High School graduate—sounding taps near the end of the solemn ceremony. While McComb sounded taps on the south side of the park, Willowbrook junior Collin Chuk played on the north side. McComb and Chuk are pictured together after the ceremony.
